Utility 2030 Collaborative Responds to COVID -19: a Three-Prong Approach
By Jack Doueck
As of the date of this article there have been more than two million cases of COVID -19 in the USA. There have been more than 120,000 deaths in the country. While every death is tragic, less than 2% of those deaths occurred in the state of Texas. To be sure, we are all tired of the months of quarantine and lockdown.
The team at Utility 2030 Collaborative was scheduled to have its Fall conference on November 17th at the Rosen Centre in Orlando, Florida.
On the one hand, we knew that there would be lots of pent up demand for networking in the regulated utility industry. On the other hand, how could we run a conference with hundreds of attendees while the country is still worried about the virus?
So, we did a survey and by popular consent, we have decided to take a three-prong approach to the Coronavirus that we believe will make everyone happy.
First, we are building the industry’s first and only “Virtual Exhibition Hall” for sponsors and exhibitors. We already have more than 40 Virtual Exhibitors signed up and we hope to build this to 100 soon. This is a three-dimensional exhibition experience and it will be up all year round – 24/7/365!
From now on, anyone looking for products and services in the regulated energy space will be able to access the biggest and only exhibition hall of its kind. Utilities will have free access and can search any one of six main categories: Suppliers, Marketing, Retention, Technology, Wholesale Energy & Finance, and Consulting & Professional services.
Visitors will be able to view each Virtual Exhibitor’s materials, videos, and reach out to them if they have an interest in a dialogue.
Second, we have rescheduled the Fall Utility 2030 Conference to the Spring, and we will be running the event on April 20th and April 21st 2021. This should give us all a chance to catch our breath after this crazy time in our lives.
Third, we have moved our Utility 2030 Conference from Florida to the Hyatt Regency, in Houston Texas.
We are confident that this will be an exciting and informative conference.
